Now that you have access to your hosting account, you can begin working with the hosting services. Our guide, developed specifically for new clients, will help you get started.
The first thing to do is log in to the hosting control panel. You can find the login details in the "My Mail" section of your personal account or in the email from Netx sent to the email address you provided during registration (also, check your spam folder in case the email ended up there). Follow the link provided and enter your username and password.
Once you are logged into the control panel, you need to link your domain and hosting:
Method #1: Registering a Domain with Netx. You can register a domain during or after placing your order. Note that the hosting must be paid for at the time of purchase. In this case, the domain will be available within one day after payment is made.
If you registered a domain but did not make the payment, contact support, and a temporary domain like name.netx.com.ua will be provided to you for free. Use this to test the quality of the hosting service.
Alternatively, you can link the domain on your PC by adding the domain-to-IP mapping in the hosts file. Remember, in this case, the domain will only work on your computer.
Method #2: Linking an Existing Domain to Hosting. To link hosting with your domain, you need to configure the DNS servers (nameservers) of Netx in the domain settings with your registrar.
- ns1.netx.com.ua
- ns2.netx.com.ua
Domain access will be granted within one day from the moment the nameservers are added.
Method #3: Free Netx Subdomain. You can obtain a subdomain immediately after logging into the hosting control panel.
- At this stage, you need to set up the connection for file uploads. If you set this up before linking your domain, you WILL NOT be able to use ftp.your-site.com and your-site.com addresses — you will need to wait a little.
File uploads to the hosting can be done through the "File Manager" in the control panel or via an FTP client.
We recommend uploading files for the main domain to the PUBLIC_HTML directory. Avoid creating folders like your-site.com.
- The next step for those who need to work with a database is to create a MySQL database and user. Remember, in the MySQL scripts, the host should be set to localhost, and the database name, password, and user are created by you.
- You can also add new sites to your hosting account. The number is limited by your hosting plan. To link domains to a single hosting account, go to the "Add-on Domains" section. A separate folder will be created for each new site (the name can be edited) for uploading website files. Don’t forget to configure the Netx DNS servers (listed above). Domain linking will take no more than one day.
With these basic setup steps completed, you can now proceed to manage your websites.
